Let's Learn How To Do Pagan Dance

pagan dans - 400x400.jpg

It is wrong to see pagan dance as a classical performance. The main purpose of pagan dance is to LET GO of oneself and THUS reconnect with the natural energies that remain from the previous universe of happiness (and therefore are forbidden).

This dance, which creates a kind of "awakening", does not resemble a previously molded (or "formatted") dance. On the contrary, it is full of figures that are COMPLETELY unruly, detached from the original side of the self, and determined by the liberated brain dominating the motor system.

For pagan dance, it is necessary to overcome the patriarchal, rigid, intolerant, normative, limited and restricted movement expectations; because what will bring the person to the state of ecstasy (fenafillah) are the figures that he will do - unique to himself. With these "personal figures", the "attachment to the previous structure" or "diffusion into the universe" increases, thus the brain makes the motor system make different figures, and these figures advance the consciousness back to the previous state. It is a chain reaction that occurs, that is, a series of reactions that feed/trigger each other.

Therefore, the ONLY rule of pagan dance is to give your brain the freedom to make your own moves.

Anyone can dance pagan; even those who consider themselves untalented in dancing... The whole point is to have music that will stimulate and excite the person (simply, that they love to listen to).

So, how will you do pagan dance? Now let's get to it.

FOLLOW THE RULES

There is only one rule in pagan dance and you must follow it. This rule is to throw away worry, anxiety, worry, and self-criticism.

Opening your brain to the things they have memorized as embarrassing is another rule (sorry, there are two rules. :) )

.

Get rid of thoughts like "What should I do, which one is good/appropriate/beautiful?", "What did the altar say, what would I do now?" from your mind. Don't judge yourself.

Leave your brain to the music. Just listen to the music. Music will make your body do something. If you feel the music, whatever movement you make is correct, appropriate, appropriate and useful.

PRELIMINARY PREPARATION

- Prepare the environment. It is better for the room you will dance in to be dim. If you wish, you can decorate your stage with insens and candles. But if you are going to use candles, make sure they are not on the floor.

- Undress. Throw away your clothes to a level where you do not feel uncomfortable. Take a step towards being a little shameless. Naturalness is often prevented by the barrier called shame in patriarchy.

- If possible, you can take a tambourine in your hand; if not, you can add the sacredness called rhythm to the dance by hitting a pan or pot with a spoon.

- Turn on your music. Listen to the music with headphones if possible.

- Stand up and stand comfortably, forget about your body, listen to some music first, establish contact. Feel the names and rhythms more than just hearing them. You can close your eyes if you wish.

DANCE

Perform the following options in order.

• Shake your head forward/backward or right/left -with force or lightly, you decide- in accordance with the music.

• Make your head draw a figure of 8 like in the "salute" movement in prayer.

• Join your upper body to the music, swing from side to side. If you wish, your movement can be swinging forward/backward, drawing a circle with your torso, or bending and rising with big movements.

• Join your arms to the music. Either swing right-left, up-down. If you wish, make circular movements.

• Engage your hips. The center where everything happens is actually here. Your hip movements will disperse the energies accumulated in that area (accumulated by patriarchal pressures). Whether you make tremola (shimmy, shaking), front/back or right/left wavy movements with your hips, or draw a circle with your hips.

If you are a man, do not be ashamed of shaking and waving your hips, do not hesitate. Remember, when you are having sex with your partner, you make more hip movements than he does. Did you say to me, "But my hip movement is only forward and back"? Maybe; but know that you are missing out on some beauties with this limited movement. If you make vertical and horizontal (back to back) circular movements with your hips during coitus (i.e. you make the front/back movement with vertical or horizontal circles), your genitals will occasionally press on your partner's clitoris and take her to pleasures she has not experienced before. We "auto-phallic" :) men are often made to believe that penis penetration gives women as much pleasure as we feel. However, their primary pleasure point is the clitoris.

[For information on this subject, you can refer to my book Vulva Massage Techniques: Manual sex techniques for the clitoris & vagina

]

So the right thing to do is to have the man make circular movements with his hips. Patriarchy takes this freedom from us so that these beauties cannot be experienced.

• In the last stage (if you are excited enough), try spinning. Again, remember that both the long-skirted Gallus, the sacred priests of Cybele, and the whirling dervishes spin in their divine dances.

CONCLUSION

The important thing is to be relaxed, to become "one" with the music, to leave yourself at the highest level possible and -if I may say so- to go crazy a little.

Use this opportunity! "Disperse" yourself with music for once, like the worshippers of Dionysus. Disperse into the universe... If you learn to relieve stress with the movements that music makes you do, with the harmony that is unique to you, you will see that at the end of each dance, the problems that previously crowded your mind will begin to seem less important to you, and you will feel more vigorous, younger and more alive.

The lightness, satisfaction and peaceful tiredness that you will experience immediately afterwards is a beautiful gift that nature (or god, depending on belief) has given you for meeting with it.
